Nature Reserves

You may have seen our previous blog, where we explored our favourite nature reserves in the UK. One of the fascinating aspects of living in the UK is the natural habitats we can visit and ultimately learn from.  Everyone can learn something from stepping out into nature, and embracing the creatures, the trees, the birds and the bees!

Many nature reserves even have a separate learning programme to go along with the crawling creatures, allowing the students to get up close and personal with the wildlife, and learning as they go!  You can find a nature reserve near you on the wildlife trust website.

For a purely life enriching experience for students, PGL could be the one. Since 1957, this organisation has been leading education outdoor adventures, ranging from language courses to summer camps and even ski trips.

They aim to bring out the best in young people and, the best thing with PGL, is everything is included; the activities, equipment and accommodation. It is more than just a school trip. Some of the fantastic packages they supply are:

  • Multi Activity: Including abseiling, quad biking, archery, raft building and more
  • Study Modules: Ranging from map skills to animation, mini beast safari and everyday chemistry
  • French Language Detectives
  • Christmas in Paris
  • UK Explorer
  • Outdoor Adventure challenges for Primary to Secondary transition

By getting out of the average classroom environment and roaming into the great outdoors, education can become much more fun, and extremely engaging and interactive for students.

City Visits

You don’t have to go far to be immersed in interactive and fun learning facilities. Cities such as Manchester, Liverpool and York are full of culture, history and art, just waiting for students to get learning! There are even many outdoor adventure facilities, which can be a fantastic base camp for everything.

London is perhaps one of the biggest and best places to fill a young mind full of education and fun. With an endless array of world-class museums and attractions, you are sure to have a successful school trip here. Especially in summer!

With Fussels Travel you don’t have to worry about the transportation to these fantastic locations. Summer is an exciting time to get students out and about to explore, learn and better themselves, and we want to be able to assist you in this.
